I start the computer from a CD, but if I check the BIOS, I see no reference to the boot order ..

Han-F1 to enter BIOS.
And they have the F12 boot order change.
Your computer must be equipped with ThinkVantage button (blue button next to the volume control). Then press F1 (in general) to enter the BIOS.
